Technical information
Trogamid®
The transparent body of the DGPT2 is made of UV-treated Trogamid® “T”, which is specially treated to be intirely ultraviolet resistant. The color of standard Trogamid is whitish-blue, but the anti-UV processing gives it the specific yellow tint.
The polyamide flange is also made of Trogamid, but it is additionally loaded with carbon fibres. Since the flange and the body are made of the same material, they inter-penetrate during moulding, which garantees complete tightness of the structure.
Technical characteristics
- Permanently transparent, UV-resistant, yellowish amorphous polyamide

- Electrolytic corrosion: A1
- Excellent chemical resistance to all known dielectrics
Cautions regarding Trogamid
Trogamid “T” is not resistant to alcohols or hot water (≥ 70°C [158°F]). Never use products containing even traces of alcohol on the body or thermometer protection.

Some leak-detector products in aerosols (e.g. Ardrox® 9D1B) contain alcohol (up to 30% propanol) and 70% acetone, which causes surface damage to the Trogamid.
